The audio is very trebley but still retains some clarity and there are a couple of cuts in between songs. This video was taped shortly after the release of the 1989 demo and shows a very different Cynic than on Focus. This is truly one from the archives.

This show has decent sound quality for a bootleg and also has one of the few known recordings of the non-demo song "Useful Human Waste".

This has been taken from a completely different source than the audio only show shown previous to this listing. Overall the sound is not too bad for a bootleg but the video can be quite grainy and difficult to watch in places. There are also a number of cuts in the video tape leading to a shorter recording than the audio version which has no cuts at all. The value of this show is that it dates back to way before Focus was recorded and offers rare if not the only known video footage of some of their demo songs.

This is the "Day Of Death" show and it provides extremely rare recordings of two Cynic songs that would otherwise be lost.

Video is a bit dark (mostly due to the lighting) and there is some video distortion. There's not much in the line of close-ups but it shows the band as a whole fairly well. There are a couple of brief cuts in the video. Tony Teegarden sings vocals. This video was shot just after Cynic's return from the European tour and is, in fact, the only U.S. show in which Tony performed with Cynic and the only show at all that Tony and Sean Malone played together. This show served as a warmup before kicking off the U.S leg of the Focus tour.

Video is dark in places (due to the lighting) and there is some video distortion. There's not much in the line of close-ups because of how far away the camera was but shows the band as a whole fairly well.

The audio is very bassy on this recording causing the overall audio quality to be on the poor side, however, this has the tendancy to bring out what Sean Malone is playing on the bass a bit more than usual in some areas. The video is shot from up close and there are no heads in the way but the camera operator tends to avoid any real close shots, sticking to only moderate close-ups instead. This is the primary reason which kept the Video grading from being a "3". Picture quality is generally clear.

The camera operator does not appear to have had image stabilization on his camera so the picture is a little jumpy. There is some slight video distortion but overall, the picture quality is clear. A wide range of shots are present from distant to moderate to tight shots and a good job is done of varying how and what is being filmed. There are some heads in the way but the guitars can usually still be seen just above them. The audio is a bit muffled (quiet) but is fairly good quality.

The picture on this video is a little fuzzy and unfocused. There are some heads partially obstructing the view but it still gives a good overall vision of what is going on with the guitars. Some good guitar close-ups are also present.

The picture is a little grainy and jumpy with heads obscuring some of the view. The shots are mostly close though. The audio gets fuzzy and distorted on some of the bassy parts as if the condenser mic on the camera couldn't handle the volume. (YEAH!!!)

The audio on this show is a little bassy but not a bad recording overall. This show has a typical, average bootleg quality sound to it.

This tape contains about 3 minutes of Cynic doing their soundcheck before the show starts. There's some mild video distortion but the camera gets such good, close shots that it's still easy to see what's going on. Extreme close-ups on the guitars during some critical parts such as leads. The audio is just about as good as it gets on a video bootleg shot with a camcorder.

The video is very dark and lighting is poor. The picture is a bit blurry but, in its' defense, there is absolutely no static in it. There isn't much for close-ups but the camera keeps a moderate full body image of the performers. This received a low video marking not because it was filmed badly so much as because it is so dark, thus making it difficult to see much of what is going on. The audio is of average quality for a bootleg.

This video is missing the last two songs of the set, cutting off after track 6. The picture is grainy and a little blurry but there are numerous really good close-ups of the guitars and lighting is good.

This video is just about as bad as it gets picture-wise. It is mistakenly believed that this show was filmed in black & white but this is untrue. The reality of the matter is that it was indeed filmed in color but the copies in circulation have all been regenerated and probably even converted between PAL and NTSC format so many times that most of the picture integrity (including the color) is almost completely gone. The sound is difficult to hear at times although is respectively of slightly better quality than the video. Sentiment cuts during the song. This is only for the hardcore Cynic collector that simply must have everything.

This video has about 11 minutes of soundcheck footage at the beginning of the tape. The audio is great and the guitars are very clear. The person running the soundboard at this show did a very good job overall. The video quality is average and goes blurry quite often. The camera is fairly near to the stage for some moderately close shots of the band but refrains from any really tight close-ups on individual band members.

This show's audio is a little bassy overall. Some areas are more clear than others though, particularly during the clean tone guitar parts. In general, this show has an average quality sound but the added clarity of the clean parts, for me, made this one deserving of the 2+ grading.

This show is from the Human tour and features the lineup from the album (Paul Masvidal, Sean Reinert & Steve DiGiorgio). The audio is very bassy with a lot of subsequent audio distortion in the playback. It can be difficult to follow the music if not already familiar with the songs. The image is bouncy and a little grainy but not too bad overall. There is a decent mix between wide angle and close up shots although almost all of the close ups are focused on Chuck and very little at all can be seen of Sean behind the drums.
